About Arts d’Tryon Studio

Arts d’Tryon Studio is a local art studio in Bel Air, Maryland. The owner and artist, Ellie Tryon Elgin found her love of art as a young girl at the Pimlico Racetrack stables. She frequently visited the stables to draw pictures of the horses and hounds. To this day, Ellie has a passion for drawing and painting people, animals, and our world.

Since moving to Harford County, home to many horse farms, rivers, and Chesapeake Bay waterways, Ellie has expanded her art to include plein-air landscape paintings. Ellie’s work has received recognition from animal rescue organizations, the City of Baltimore, and the State of Maryland.

Artist Sunday – December 1st, 2024

Artist Sunday is an annual event to support local artists. It was created in 2020 to encourage people to shop with local artists and purchase art gifts for the holidays. On December 1st, 2024, Ellie’s studio will be open exhibiting her plein-air landscape paintings.

She will also be exhibiting her figurative/portrait paintings to anyone who would like to commission a portrait. Matted prints of paintings in various sizes will also be offered. Outside of the studio, a tent will be set up for unframed plein-air landscapes and still-life paintings. The majority of these paintings will be priced at $150.00, but reasonable offers are accepted.

Local Business Owners:

Ellie is looking to partner with local businesses who would help her spread the word about Artist Sunday by handing out event flyers to their customers. She would also like to share the cost of printing and/or provide drinks and snacks at the event (not obligated). In return, Ellie would design and print the flyers. The flyers would acknowledge her partners and encourage visitors to support their business. Coupons or discounts of the business may be included on the flyer.
